Summer Pruning Workshop

Whether you are a beginner or experienced pruner update and enhance your skills. Learn the basics of pruning trees, with emphasis on fruit trees and summer care, including disease control. Bring your own tools.

Trees

Trees are an investment – train them when young so they will be fruitful and beautiful as they grow and develop.

Pruning and Tree Care

This is a three-hour workshop designed to teach the basic principles of proper pruning to beginners. It is also appropriate for those wishing to clarify and enhance their skills. This can be taught as a group class or an individual session with your trees.

Tree Planting
and Care

At this three-hour workshop, you will learn how to create an orchard for success and beauty. The course covers soil preparation, selection, proper placement, staking, protection, fertilizer, mulching and watering.

The Biology Behind It

At this two-hour class, you will learn the science behind growing healthy and fruitful trees. The course covers trunks, branches, xylem, phloem, roots and processes.

Successful Vegetable Gardening

How to Grow your Own Vegetables

This five-part series is designed for new gardeners and those wanting to develop sustainable methods. Each workshop is two hours. They can be taken independently or as a whole.

  1. Basic Planting
  2. Fall Seed Starting Workshop (August)
  3. Soils
  4. Spring Seed Starting Workshop (January)
  5. Late Spring/Summer Seed Starting Workshop (March)

Seed starting workshops: You bring your seeds and containers. We provide instruction, media (to start seeds) and plant labels. You go home with containers ready to grow.
